FAQs
Why is LinC needed?
Christians want to serve their community in practical ways. Often they do not know who needs help, how best to help individuals and families or how to ensure that needs are met.
What kinds of needs are met by a LinC Network of churches?
Some of the needs are very simple – just enough care to help a family through a rough time. Congregations and community partners that make up each LinC Affiliate address many unmet needs in their local areas.
What do volunteers do?
Affiliates determine what assistance will be offered based on identified service gaps and the time, talents and resources available in the participating churches.
How did LinC begin?
Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC) began in Michigan, USA in 1976 as a way to encourage churches to become more engaged with the poor and inspire more Christians to put their faith into action. LinC in Australia was initially supported by World Vision.
Why are relationships important?
LinC has demonstrated that churches can have a remarkable impact on individual lives and communities.
How are referrals made?
LinC Affiliates have a local telephone referral centre to receive requests from community members/churches/agencies.
What are the benefits of LinC?
The ministry of LinC offers something to everyone involved – not only the people who receive help.
How do I know if our church needs LinC?
